## CLIENT CHALLENGE

 

A major Dutch bank needed to embed a three-lines-of-defence ALM model across the whole chain, from governance down to IT, while implementing new Interest Rate Risk and Liquidity Risk regulations. The hard part wasn't a single piece of it - **it was coordinating more than 30 stakeholders at once, all with a stake in the outcome and a different view of it.**

## INSIGHTS

 

When risk work stalls, the problem is usually structure, not effort. The most valuable first step was an honest self-assessment to baseline where things really stood. Once everyone agreed on the starting point, the three lines of defence could be coordinated properly and the compliance roadmap became something the bank could actually steer.

## WHAT WE DID

 

We restructured the central programme organisation so it could carry the work, then ran a self-assessment to baseline the issues clearly and without spin.

From there we coordinated the three lines of defence and managed both the open issues and the compliance roadmap as one connected effort. Agile delivery across multiple SCRUM teams, with stand-ups and formal change controls, kept a large and complex programme moving in a controlled way.
