CLIENT CHALLENGE

The CCPs announced fixed transition dates for the discounting rates on EUR/USD cleared trades.

A major Dutch bank needed a go-live that was controlled and thoroughly rehearsed, covering the full system, trade and change scope, with one non-negotiable condition: no impact on valuation.

A benchmark switch like this is high-risk by nature, and the dates couldn't move.

INSIGHTS

When risk work stalls, the problem is usually structure, not effort. The most valuable first step was an honest self-assessment to baseline where things really stood. Once everyone agreed on the starting point, the three lines of defence could be coordinated properly and the compliance roadmap became something the bank could actually steer.

WHAT WE DID

For a benchmark transition, the real work happens before go-live.

The aim was to make a high-risk transition feel calm and controlled on the day itself. We got there through repeated test cycles, each one covering more of the full system, trade and change scope.

By testing early and staying closely aligned with the CCPs, we reduced uncertainty before the switch. In this kind of programme, no surprises on go-live day is exactly the outcome you want.
